I will not forget the day a little over a year ago, when Cecil, always on the lookout for staff to supplement his team, stopped by my desk. Realising from my location that I was not assigned to a project, he enquired why? When I told him I was being given a break from projects having very recently lost my wife, Theresa, to cancer, he just said “That must be awful, I don’t know how I would cope if I ever lost my wife” and then asked if I would like to go for a coffee and a talk. I did not take up his invitation at the time, but the sentiment and his concern was typical of him and so appreciated. Rest in peace, Cecil, it was good to have known you and to have worked with you. My thoughts are with your wife and family.
